We pour organic Paksong highland beans, roasted on the Bolaven Plateau and brewed strong, alongside a compact breakfast menu of eggs, fresh fruit, Lao-French classics, and whatever the bakery sent up that morning. 29 Years of ORI Bakery

Everything warm on the counter comes from our long-running partner, ORI Bakery — a Luang Prabang institution that has been shaping dough before dawn for close to 29 years. Their croissants, doughnuts, and daily loaves are the reason regulars plan their morning walk around a stop at Indigo House rather than the other way round. It is bakery Luang Prabang old town does properly: no shortcuts, no imported frozen dough, just the same recipes and the same early starts that have kept the ovens running for almost three decades. Ask at the counter what came out most recently — the tray changes through the morning, and the best pastries rarely last past nine o'clock.

Indigo House sits directly on Sisavangvong Road, the old town's main heritage street, inside the UNESCO World Heritage zone and only a short walk from the Hmong textile night market that unrolls along the same road each evening. It is an easy, flat stroll to the base of Mount Phousi for anyone climbing up for sunset, and to the Morning Market for those out early people-watching the alms-giving procession before the town properly wakes. However you find your way here — checking out of a room upstairs or simply passing on foot — the café is open to everyone. No booking, no room key required; pull up a stool, order a coffee, and take in the view.
